It’s springtime in the community!
Whether you’ve been here a while, are new to the area, or arrive soon, it’s a great time to get out. Our Chapter is always working to help you grow, no matter where you go.
The start of our program year highlights the community connection and collaboration that is critical to the Chapter and the members and neighborhood we support. We are grateful to the Tower Cares Foundation who provided a $5,000 donation to ensure that we were able to impact several families and single service members during the holiday season!
In January, we celebrated the Baltimore and Chesapeake Region volunteers by providing a volunteer recognition appreciation dinner to recognize the 1,200 hours given by volunteers in 2022. In February, we had a great evening out as we connected caregivers to one another, and enjoyed a performance of Les Miserables at the historic Baltimore Hippodrome.
During the month of April we will host several community events which include Coffee Connects across Maryland. We will roll up our sleeves and volunteer to support a monthly beach cleanup at Fort Smallwood Park in Pasadena, Maryland. On April 22nd, join Blue Star Families of the Baltimore and Chesapeake Region and the National Capital Region for an extraordinary Month of the Military Child, Teen 3K Walk, Run, or Roll Event. We are inviting over 150 military teens to join us at this event where they will interact with other teens and engage in fun, health and wellness activities, enjoy a free nutritious lunch, and receive a military teen special gift.
