My Veteran and I have been married for 4 years. I'm still trying to navigate benefits and resources available. Are there cabins you've rented at state parks you recommend? Somehow my husband and an ex rented one in Kentucky and only paid a cleaning fee, but doesn't know where. Ideas?

    Hi there!

A cabin get-away sounds so fun! I'm not sure if this is in your area, but my family rents a cabin at Chimney Rock in North Carolina about once a year and we love it! The cabins in that area average about $100 a night. Most of the cabins are dog friendly if you had furry friends that wanted to attend too! There's a little town to go shopping in and grab a drink, but it's super quiet and peaceful. The perfect get-away! I'm not sure if they would offer a veteran discount, but wanted to share the area!

    Love North Carolina, @angeliquecherikos!

Rebecca, there are usually different discounts for military members (though I've never heard of a place offering only a cleaning fee; that's wonderful!). I just did a quick Google search, and several different places came up for discounts; if you haven't heard of Armed Forces Vacation Club, they're a good one to check out. They have discounts on all types of vacations and offer tons of reviews as well.
