    Hi Melissa! Thanks so much for the question. My kids love stuff like this. We also used to enjoy collecting shells when stationed in North Carolina. We recently picked up an Eyewitness Workbook called Rocks & Minerals, which discusses identifying rocks and minerals, rocks on the beach, polishing, and more.

    Hi Melissa - Yesss! I'm a little obsessed. Also love fossils and shark tooth hunting. Here's a part of my collection, but this is mostly purchased/gifts.

    We took a trip out west a couple years ago and found a lot of cool rocks - lots of obsidian and other volcanic stuff and actually got to go in a mine and dig for opal. 
     
    Would love to see some of your favorite pieces!
