  • 1.  What's your "comfort" game?

    Posted 01-16-2024 11:21 AM

Does anyone else play games for the sole purpose of seeking comfort? Everyone I know has something they do when they need comfort. For most, it's a show they watch. For me, it's gaming. One game in particular - Skyrim. I am always drawn to the beautiful scenery, soothing music, and the repetitive-yet-cozy vibe of the taverns in each of the holds (cities). I even listen to the Skyrim soundtrack on Youtube to meditate sometimes. I know the game is over ten years old, but I still think it is perhaps the best game ever made and it never fails to help uplift my mood and/or relieve my stress. Whats your comfort game?

My go-to comfort game rn is Miles Morales/Spiderman 2...I'm replaying both. Usually, I turn to Spyro or Zelda though. I'm also really looking forward to the new FF and Prince of Persia games. :-) Are you going to play either of those?

Wait - they are making another Prince of Persia game!? How did I not know this?

I might just play that. I loved FF and Zelda as a kid/teen too. Those are pretty comforting if you're looking for more linear play. I think Ocarina of Time introduced the concept of open-world pretty well though. But I do prefer open-world, lots of side quests-type games.

Yessss! I'm so excited about the new Prince of Persia game. I don't think I have a comfort game per se, though if I'm trying to zone out and play something on my phone, it's usually sudoku or a crossword.

Yep! I think it comes out on the 18th? Like...this week sometime. I haven't heard good, bad, or otherwise about it, but I figure it's worth a run through. Lol.

Mine is definitely Sims 4! I love just building little homes and listening to music or a book. I don't have to control character, I get to just build a little home and it makes me so happy while bringing me a lot of comfort.
